Robin Oliver

Dog breeding and training contributor

Robin Oliver contributes Paws Are Yours for Life to Fast Forward to Success. Her biography describes years breeding pedigree Maltese dogs, including dogs that achieved Australian Championship titles and show awards.

The chapter begins with a childhood enthusiasm for animals and follows that interest into practical experience. Robin considers what it means to bring a puppy or an older dog into a home where the routines and expectations are unfamiliar.

Planning, repetition, encouragement and attention to an animal's comfort are central themes. Robin describes learning through the particular dog in front of her rather than assuming that a new companion will immediately understand what is wanted.

Her contribution introduces the practical background behind her educational videos and her wish to help owners build a settled relationship with their dogs. The emphasis is on the responsibility and patience involved in sharing a household with an animal over its lifetime.
